2020 Program Schedule

February 16 ~ A Celebration of Black History Month
An afternoon of song, poetry, history, folktales, and more, hold- ing up an often unknown and rich heritage of African American and African culture. 3 - 6 pm (includes dinner at 5 pm). Reservations required. Donations accepted.

February 27 ~ Lent—A Time for Extraordinary Spiritual Growth
Lent is a time to prepare for the celebration of Easter. We’ll take a new look at the meaning of Lent in light of Easter. Presented by Fr. Peter Tremblay, OFM Conv. 9 am - 3 pm, followed by Mass. Cost $35 (includes lunch).

May 31 - June 5 ~ Silent Directed Retreat
To include daily reflections, prayer, spiritual direction for those who desire it, and liturgy. Facilitated by Fr. Louis Canino, ofm. Cost: $500 in the main building and $600 in a hermitage.

June 7 ~ 15th Anniversary of St. Francis Springs Prayer Center and 30th Anniversary of The Franciscan Center
The Franciscan Ministries will celebrate these special anniversaries with an afternoon of music, memories, and hilarious laughter. Call for details.

June 9 ~ Living a Christian Life in the World Today
How can we find hope and direction in a world that is so broken, divided, and confused? Read the signs of the times through the lens of Sacred Scripture for inspiration and
for a new path for Christian living. Presented by Fr. Peter Tremblay, OFM Conv. 9 am—3 pm, followed by Mass. Cost $35 (includes lunch).

July 27 - 31 ~ Icon Workshop
Enrollment for this annual workshop is currently full with a waiting list.

September 3 - 4 ~ An Evening with Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove
Renowned speaker and author of dozens of books around justice, join Jonathan for a lively discussion of his newest book Revolution of Values.
Arrive at 3 PM on Thursday and Depart at 1 PM on Friday.• Cost is $150 single occupancy, $200 double occupancy.

September 25 - 27 ~ Christianity Deconstructs Racism
Join Rev. Dr. Keith Daniel for a weekend. A regular at the Center, Keith will deliver Christianity (De)Constructs Racism© study that focuses on how the Christianity of Jesus is a powerful deconstructive force against America’s original sin of racism.
Arrive at 3 PM on Friday and Depart at 1 PM on Sunday. Cost is $200 single occupancy and $300 double occupancy.

October 3 - 4 ~ Transitus to Transcendence
Join us as we celebrate the death and new life of our patron saint, St. Francis of Assisi. Overnight accommodations for this retreat are currently filled, but commuters may still make a reservation. Commuter rate: $35 per person.

October 11 - 12 ~ Racial Equity Workshop
Have you ever pondered the deep question of why civil unrest is part of our existence? Please join members from St. Francis of Assisi Church in Raleigh for this 2 day class taught by the Racial Equity Institute.
Arrive at 9 AM on Sunday and Depart at 5 PM on Monday. Cost is $300 per person.

November 20 - 22 ~ Bob Zellner Weekend
Please join us for this unique opportunity to hear from the past. Bob was the first white man to march with Dr. Martin Luther King. Now in his 80•s, Spike Lee is producing a movie about his life called Son of the South.
Arrive at 3 PM on Friday and Depart at 1 PM on Sunday. Cost is $200 single occupancy and $300 double occupancy.

December 6 ~ Afternoon of Taize Music and Prayer for the Season of Advent
3 - 6 pm. Cost: $35 (includes dinner at 5 pm).

December 6 - 8 ~ Christmas At The Springs
Fr. Louis Canino, ofm, will lead this retreat, reflecting on how we make Christmas a spiritual experience and carry that spirit throughout the New Year. Cost: $160 per person (double occupancy). Includes the Taize program on December 6.

December 9 ~ Afternoon of Taize Music and Prayer for the Season of Advent
3 - 6 pm. Cost: $35 (includes dinner at 5 pm).

Prayer, fellowship, dinner, Eucharist, midnight reception and brunch. Cost $125 per person, double occupancy only.
